and i’m not entirely sure at what attracts me to subway tunnels and underground trains. (though i love trains in general) growing up in LA didn’t really allow for an exposure to trains, so when i went to London for few months last year i fell in love with the tube. i was fascinated by it. i loved it’s convenience and how it was such a technological feat. i loved the loud electric, chunky sound it makes on the rails. but i especially loved people watching on the train; how it was an entirely different set of rules and behaviors just because a bunch of strangers are stuck together in metal car, going at breakneck speeds hurdling into the darkness. the fleeting moments between people on the tube were my favorite. a space entirely defined by humans…

maybe i’m romanticizing the subway a bit but all i know is that i want to visit more of them.
